CBS Students runs, operates, and owns the canteens at all CBS campuses. Every canteen operates on a non-profit basis and their main function is to make sure that all students are able to have a meal or a snack at campus, at all times of the day, and with a wide range of options to choose from.
Spisestuerne was established in 1988 by two students at CBS who found that the external company operating the canteens at the time did not care about the needs and wishes of the students and were only there to generate profits. For these reasons, Lars Winther, who to this day is in charge of the canteens, started cooking for his fellow students in the basement of the campus downtown.
Today, Spisestuerne feeds staff and students at five campus buildings, has their own selection of to-go products, caters to all events and conferences at CBS, and continuously strives to improve the study environment through genuine cooking all made from scratch; even all cakes and bread are baked in the of Dalgas Have every morning to ensure the highest quality possible.
