Nearly 10 years ago, Satoshi Nakamoto published a paper on the cryptography mailing list at metzdowd.com. Here, he described a digital currency with the title “Bitcoin”. A Peer-to-Peer Electronic
Cash System”. In January 2009, Nakamoto released the first Bitcoin software that launched the network and the first units of the bitcoin cryptocurrency, called bitcoins. Since then, the technology behind bitcoins, blockchain, has received greater interest each year. It is claimed to do to businesses as the internet did to information. Now, multiple companies such as Mærsk, Amazon, Alibaba & IBM use or explore this technology. While blockchain technology is on its way to revolutionize supply-chains, close to no one have implemented blockchain technology in finance organizations. However, there might be several compelling use-cases for the technology.
This event will go within depth of business blockchains and potential use cases such as VAT and Procure to Pay within finance organizations.
