Support Haiti

Dear students,

As you may not be aware, one of ours is directly affected by the earthquake in Haiti.

My name is Sandra Hilaire-Madsen; I am studying HD at CBS.  I’m from Port-au-Prince, Haiti and moved to Denmark 3 years ago with my Danish husband for almost 10 years and our two children. I left my home country under special circumstances but my heart is still with my people. I feel so devastated and powerless that I cannot give my contribution on the field as I live so far away.

While I’m being very grateful to have my parents alive, my thoughts and compassion are with those less fortunate. I know how the Danish community is very concerned by this tragedy; therefore I’m appealing to your kind heart and generosity to help the people of Haiti who are desperately in need. I would urge you, my fellow students to make donation for this cause and sensibilize your network (friends, family, and colleagues) towards this catastrophe.

Your contribution, as little as it could be would make a huge difference in the victims’ lives. As the priority right now is to help them to survive, I would recommend some organizations already established in Haiti which are doing an amazing job on the field.

  • Red Cross: 100 DKK by sending a sms with the text "katastrofe" to 1231.

  • Doctors Without Borders: 150 DKK by sending a sms with the text "læge" to 1414.

  • World Food Programme:  wfp.org/haiti

  • UNICEF: 150 DKK by sending a sms with the text  “akut" to 1231

The people of Haiti are in desperate need of food, water and medicine to survive. They are already short of medicine and some areas outside of Port-au-Prince are not reached yet by the rescuers.

Thank you for your contribution,

Sandra Hilaire-Madsen
